About The Artist
Denise Hogarth Nicely is a contemporary artist who combines classical artistic principles, innovative techniques, and thought-provoking iconography.
Originally from England, Denise and her family moved to the United States when she was 7. The feelings of detachment and longing following her move prompted her to seek comfort from the horses her family worked with. Denise’s connection to horses heavily influenced much of her early work and continues to echo in several of her newer pieces. As she developed her artistic skills, she worked under several renowned professionals, mastering the fundamentals and eventually breaking through them; her willingness to abandon classical notions allowed her to create unorthodox and visually stunning pieces.
Though greatly varied in their process, composition, and subject matter, Denise’s work often plays with the concept of light. Variations in intensity and hue on the canvas and the lighting around the piece give her work a new dimension of depth.
Denise continues to practice art out of her studio in the Dallas Forth Worth metroplex. She has produced commissioned works for both business and residential settings. Her eagerness to collaborate sets her apart, putting paint to the ideas and principles of her clients. Those who have had the privilege of working with Denise and experiencing her paintings describe unique and positive emotional experiences throughout the art and commission process.
